GHANA’S FIRST SPRINTER, BOBSLEDDER, AND SKELETON PAYS A COURTESY CALL ON AMBASSADOR OF GHANA TO THE UNITED STATES

Washington, District of Columbia 26 June 2018 (CABNC TV)-Mr. Akwasi  Frimpong Ghana’s first skeleton, sprinter and bobsledder athlete who has won eight gold medals, four bronze and four silver in various international sport pays a courtesy call on Ambassador of Ghana to the United States, His Excellency Barfour Adjei-Barwuah in his Washington D.C office.

He was accompanied by Mr. George Kwasi Bright Editor and Publisher Afrikan Post and Mr. AbdulRasheed Abubakar Chief Executive Officer and Publisher DIASPORA TODAY MAGAZINE based in Washington D.C.

HE Amb. Barfour welcomed Mr. Akwasi’s presence at the Ghanaian Embassy, Washington D.C, in his maiden visit to Washington D.C where Mr. Akwasi will be attending the 2018Africa Trade & Investment Global Summit (ATIGS), at the World Trade Center – Ronald Reagan Building in Washington D.C.

Amb. Barfour expressed his confidence in young Ghanaians’ been able to take Ghana to the next level, he added that “without doubt, young Ghanaians’ abroad mostly in the United States continues to demonstrate strong commitment in the rapid development of Ghana’s economy”. He further expresses his willingness to support Ghanaians’ in diaspora towards achieving quick cultural, social and economic development of the Republic of Ghana.

Mr. Akwasi thanked HE Ambassador Barfour for his simplicity and timely response for the courtesy call. Because it was Mr. George Kwasi and Mr. AbdulRasheed who suggested the visitation idea, and immediately they put the call through to you, without delay you diligently accepted our request to meet with you today. He added that, “His priority is to continue to inspire young Ghanaians’ home and abroad to do their best in making the country great”, he stated that “he’s getting ready for Beijing 2022, and his determination to win Ghana’s and Africa’s first Winter Olympics medal.

Mr. Akwasi and his delegation also met with the Head of Trade and Investment section of the Embassy in Washington, Mrs. Stella Ansah and Mr. Joseph Ngminebayihi, Minister (Consul) Embassy of Ghana.
